SAM4 Platform

The complete monitoring system for your motor fleet.

Hardware at the MCC. Signal processing and AI analytics in the cloud. A team of reliability engineers validating every alert. And a dashboard your entire organisation can use. SAM4 is the full stack — delivered as a managed service.

What you get

Four components. One managed service.

SAM4 is not a single product. It's four components working together — each one purpose-built for industrial motor monitoring, delivered and managed by Samotics.

Sensor + comms hardware

Dedicated hardware installed at the MCC. Captures the electrical signature of every connected AC motor at up to 96 kHz and transmits data via cellular, with Ethernet or WiFi fallback where signal is limited. No sensors on the machine. No wiring to the asset.

Signal processing + AI analytics

Proprietary algorithms extract mechanical and electrical features from the signal. Machine learning models — trained on thousands of industrial assets — detect anomalies, classify fault types, and track degradation over time.

Monitoring service

Every AI-flagged anomaly is reviewed by a Samotics reliability engineer before an alert reaches your team. Fault type confirmed, severity assessed, recommended action written. No false positive noise. No alerts to triage. This is what makes SAM4 a managed service, not a self-serve tool.

Dashboard + API

A fleet-wide interface for daily use and quarterly reporting. Asset health scores, active alerts, diagnostic history, and trend analysis — all in one view. Your engineers see everything we see. Role-based access for different teams. REST API for CMMS integration and automated workflows.

Dashboard

Built for daily checks and quarterly reviews

The dashboard is designed for two users: the Reliability Manager who checks it daily, and the Operations Director who opens it quarterly. Both get what they need in under 60 seconds.

Asset health overview

Every asset displays a health score based on continuous electrical signature analysis. Green, amber, red — at a glance. Drill into any asset for full diagnostic history.

Alert feed

Active alerts ranked by severity and urgency. Each alert includes fault type, affected asset, recommended action, and estimated time to failure. Every alert is validated before it reaches your team.

Energy insights

Track energy efficiency across your fleet. Identify underperforming assets, detect process deviations that drive excess consumption, and see where optimisation matters most.

Trend analysis

Track how asset health evolves over weeks and months. Spot slow degradation before it triggers an alert. Compare performance across similar asset types to identify outliers.

Alert logic

Every alert is validated before it reaches your team

Reliability teams don't need more alerts. They need fewer, better ones. SAM4's three-stage pipeline ensures every alert that reaches your team has been validated by a reliability engineer.

1

AI detection

Machine learning models identify anomalies in the electrical signature. The models are trained on thousands of industrial assets across fault types and equipment categories.

2

Expert validation

Every anomaly flagged by the AI is reviewed by a Samotics diagnostician before an alert is sent. Human expertise confirms fault type, assesses severity, and writes a recommended action. No automated spam.

3

Alert delivery

Validated alerts arrive in the SAM4 dashboard and push to your CMMS, email, or notification channel. Each alert includes: fault type, severity level, affected asset, recommended action, and estimated timeline.

Severity levels

Critical

Immediate action required. Failure likely within days to weeks. The alert includes specific remediation steps.

Warning

Developing fault detected. Plan maintenance within the next scheduled window. Degradation trend visible but not yet urgent.

Advisory

Minor anomaly or process deviation. Monitor the trend. No immediate action, but the condition is now tracked.

Diagnostic depth

What your team receives with every alert

Every validated alert comes with a diagnostic report written by a Samotics reliability engineer. Fault type, severity, recommended action, and full historical context — ready to act on.

Fault type

Bearing degradation, misalignment, imbalance, cavitation, clogging, rotor bar defects, winding degradation, power supply issues, or process deviations. Classified by the AI, confirmed by the diagnostician.

Severity assessment

How far the fault has progressed. Baseline comparison, degradation rate, and estimated time to functional failure. Not just "something is wrong" — how wrong, and how fast it's getting worse.

Recommended action

Specific maintenance recommendation written by the diagnostician. "Inspect bearing at next scheduled shutdown" or "Replace coupling within 4 weeks." Actionable, not generic.

Historical context

Full timeline: when the anomaly first appeared, how it has evolved, and how the asset compares to similar equipment across your fleet. Pattern recognition across thousands of assets informs every diagnosis.

Service model

Expert engineers behind every alert

SAM4 isn't self-serve software. Behind the platform is a team that knows your fleet, your sites, and your maintenance priorities.

Dedicated diagnostics team

Reliability engineers with domain expertise across pumps, compressors, fans, and motors. They've analysed thousands of faults across dozens of industries. Every AI-flagged anomaly is reviewed: fault type confirmed, severity assessed, recommended action written, time-to-failure estimated. Your team receives validated insights — not raw alerts to triage.

Named customer success manager

One person who knows your fleet, your sites, and your maintenance priorities. They coordinate onboarding, manage escalations, track detection outcomes, and ensure you're extracting full value from the platform. When you call, you speak to someone who already knows what's happening on your assets.

Quarterly business reviews

Scheduled reviews covering detection outcomes, fleet health trends, asset prioritisation recommendations, and ROI tracking. Data formatted for leadership — including avoided downtime, energy savings, and maintenance cost impact. No reformatting required.

Getting started

We guide every step

Deploying condition monitoring usually means months of planning. SAM4 is different. We guide you from asset selection through go-live and beyond — with a named contact at every stage.

1

Asset selection

We help you identify which assets to monitor first — based on criticality, failure history, and accessibility. Not every motor needs monitoring. We help you prioritise the ones where early detection has the highest impact.

2

Installation + onboarding

Hardware installs at the MCC in under 30 minutes per asset. Your fleet appears in the dashboard the same day. We handle configuration, baseline calibration, and initial health assessment.

3

Training

Structured training for every user role. Your maintenance team learns to interpret alerts, act on recommendations, and track outcomes. Operations directors learn to use fleet-level views and reporting. We train to your workflow, not ours.

4

Ongoing support

A named customer success manager for escalations, quarterly reviews, and continuous improvement. New assets can be added at any time. As your fleet grows, the service scales with it.

Enterprise features

Built for multi-site, multi-team operations

SAM4 scales from a 20-asset pilot to a 10,000+ asset fleet. The enterprise features below exist because our largest customers demanded them.

Multi-site management

Manage assets across multiple sites, regions, and business units from a single dashboard. Filter, group, and compare by any dimension.

Role-based access

Configure visibility and permissions by role. Site engineers see their assets. Regional managers see their sites. The CTO sees the fleet. SSO integration available.

Integrations

SAM4 connects to your existing maintenance systems — SAP PM, IBM Maximo, and other CMMS platforms. Alerts and diagnostics flow directly into your work orders. Data exports and automated workflows available via REST API.

Leadership reporting

Pre-built reports for quarterly reviews, regulatory compliance, and internal stakeholder updates. Avoided downtime, energy savings, and maintenance cost impact — formatted for leadership. Export to PDF or share live links.

“Samotics offers us an innovative perspective on our assets, unveiling insights into previously hidden situations. This newfound visibility empowers us to make informed, proactive decisions that significantly improve our maintenance efficiency.”
